*** Non-Urgent and Elective Surgeries and Procedures
On April 8, the Ontario government announced the ramping down of elective and non-urgent surgeries and procedures in response to the bed capacity crisis in hospitals related to the pandemic. If you have a procedure/surgery scheduled at GBGH in the coming weeks and it must postponed based on the government’s direction, you will be contacted by the hospital. If you are not contacted by the hospital, your procedure is proceeding as planned.
The Ambulatory Care team is responsible for providing primary and secondary health care to the clients of the North Simcoe County area, both outpatients and inpatients. These services are provided by an integrated health care team which includes physicians, registered nurses, registered practical nurses, pharmacy, laboratory, diagnostic imaging and physiotherapy. The team is supported by other departments including registration, volunteers, central supply, laundry, housekeeping and dietary services.
Please Note: If you are coming to the hospital for an appointment in the Ambulatory Care Department you must arrive 30 minutes early in order to register. The hospital has a central registration system that provides all registration in the main lobby.
Ambulatory Care is located on the lower level at the Midland site and is accessible via the stairs in the main lobby or the elevator.
The Georgian Bay General Hospital operates an nine-station dialysis unit at 611 Prospect Boulevard. This satellite unit of the Orillia Soldiers Memorial Hospital regional dialysis program provides dialysis treatment and support to patients receiving hemodialysis who reside in the North Simcoe area.
