Schedules vary by role and department. Some positions require rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Specific details will be discussed during the hiring process. Each job posting will indicate the assigned shift for the vacancy so that you can be fully informed.

Part-time commitments vary across our union partners, however, in almost all cases we work to provide a master schedule to help with predictability. We also recognize that you may be looking for a reduced commitment to enjoy greater flexibility. Options include both casual positions for most positions as well as 0.3 FTE roles for registered nurses.

GBGH recognizes the importance of work-life balance and encourages employees to plan their vacation time in advance. Vacation requests are submitted through the internal scheduling system, UKG, and are approved based on your union collective agreement, departmental needs, and seniority. We prioritize long-term planning to ensure fairness and adequate staffing while supporting employees in taking their well-earned time off.
