Intensive Care Unit

GBGH is designated as a Level 3 ICU Unit, which is one of the highest levels of service in the province of Ontario to meet the needs of the patients who may require advanced or ongoing respiratory/life support. Our ICU consists of six beds and has the ability to care for a wide variety of patients experiencing complex medical issues.  Our registered nurses also monitor 10 medical inpatient beds through our telemetry system, which through collaboration with the inpatient unit staff members allows us to provide the ability to care for a greater number of patient’s who otherwise may not require the advanced monitoring of one of our critical care beds.

The ICU is staffed by a group of highly skilled multidisciplinary team members including internists (specialist doctor), registered nurses, respiratory therapists and other specialties as required.

The ICU is located on the main floor at the Midland site.
