X-Ray Information for Patients and Family

Routine Radiology (x-ray)

X-Rays are a form of ionizing radiation used as a diagnosing tool. They are the most common tests done in Medical Imaging. An image is produced when a detector senses x-rays as they pass through the part of the body being imaged.  X-Ray services are performed for inpatients, outpatients and emergency patients. General X-Ray does not require a booking. Outpatients and walk-ins are welcomed Monday to Friday from 0800-1600hrs.

NEW: GBGH has implemented an online booking system for X-Rays, in addition to accommodating walk in appointments. Ensure you allow time for waiting, as the X-Ray Department also serves the emergency department and at times may need to prioritize an urgent patient.

***Please ensure you have a completed requisition from your physician before booking an X-Ray. If you schedule an X-Ray online without this requisition, GBGH will not be able to perform the procedure.
