Intensive Care Unit
The ICU/CCU is a six-bed unit providing continuous monitoring for critically ill patients. Patients often need to be in ICU because of cardiac problems, respiratory distress or complications from accidents or injury.
The unit is staffed by a highly skilled multidisciplinary team including internists, family physicians, registered nurses, respiratory therapists and other specialties as required.
Family members only are allowed to visit and are restricted to two people at a time with a preferred limit of ten minutes per visit.
Patients need rest periods between visits.
The nurse will monitor patients’ tolerance levels carefully. Visitors may be requested to leave if the patient is becoming overtired.
The ICU is located on the main floor at the Midland site.
