What to Bring

What to Bring

Please bring your valid health card and a second piece of identification as well as proof of any other hospital insurance you may carry.

Please bring all medications that you are taking, including inhalers, eye drops, topical patches, creams, injectables and any over the counter medications or herbal products. Bring a current list of medications, including dosage and directions for use. Always keep an up-to-date list of your medications and bring it with you.

Personal toiletries (toothbrushes, toothpaste, Kleenex, brushes, combs, denture cups and tablets, shampoo and conditioners, nail clipper, bar soap, personal razors) are your responsibility. Do bring your own pajamas or night gowns if you prefer. Your own dressing gown and non-slip slippers are a must for your comfort.

Other items you may wish to bring are reading materials, crafts or hobbies to do in your spare time. For children, also bring their favourite book or toy.

What Not to Bring

Electrical appliances such as hair dryers and electric razors are not allowed without approval by our maintenance staff.

Please leave jewellery, wallets, purses and other valuables in the care of your family at home. Likewise, please do not bring large sums of money with you. Personal belongings, valuables, jewellery and/or money kept in your room are your responsibility.

Allergies

Perfumes & Scents

To protect patients and staff with allergies and asthma, GBGH promotes a “Scent Free” environment. Please do not wear scented products, essential oils, or perfumes, and encourage your visitors to respect this policy.

Balloons

To protect patients and staff with allergies to latex, balloons made of latex are not permitted in the hospital. Only foil balloons are permitted.

Flowers

To protect staff and patients with allergies, strong scented flowers such as lilies, hyacinth, etc. are not permitted in the hospital.
